Just in:
Thank you Senators who voted to protect the Chicot aquifer and the safety of the 4,000 people that live around Lake Peigneur.  To those Senators who voted against it, there is nothing to say.

Senator Mills showed a video of what happened to Lake Peigneur and the surrounding area in 1980.  Senator Ardley very coldly questioned Senator Mills about the video, and more or less said what does this video have to do with protecting Lake Peigneur and areas around it today.

SB 200 BY MILLS Failed  by 5 votes  (15:20)

  1. Thank you so much, FCF! This was going to be my next step. Was going to give myself tonight to be sad; then get back to work in the morning. I will very actively, publically campaign for those who stood up for this bill and will very actively, publically campaign against those who opposed! This bill particularlly exposed those who are owned by the industry and who do NOT represent the citizens of Lousiana. There bill effected no other caverns in the state other than the one at Jefferson Island/Lake Peigneur. There is also no other more dramatic example of a critically damaged environment that needed special protection. Bayou Corne is still ongoing. These terrible tragedies are serving to increase the awareness of industry practices, not just here in Louisiana but, all over the world. The public outcry will grow. Many more are paying attention to the list you’ve posted. Thank you again for everything you do to help everyone!!! 🙂

    • My pleasure! dem dogs! And the stay aways were NO help either!
I will name them ALL again if anything bad happens there! ANY oil/gas/brine calamity at Lake Peigneur will have their NAME on it!
