More on Lake Peigneur Foe, AGL Resources

This is why AGL Resources is fighting so hard to expand, because they plan to export natural gas to China from the Jefferson Island Storage & Hub, which is still considered Intrastate and Interstate. Another reason to risk safety and use of the Chicot aquifer. Yes it means lots of jobs to people in China!! Only 10 people work at Jefferson Island Storage & Hub, LLC.

China, the world’s largest energy consumer, has two cross-country gas pipelines that carry gas imports across the nation. It is building a third.

The government wants to secure around 30 percent of China’s natural gas consumption from imports, up from just 6 percent in 2007.

Pipeline explosion halts gas supplies to southern China: Xinhua
BEIJING | Sun May 26, 2013 1:50am EDT

(Reuters) – A section of a cross-country gas pipeline in China exploded on Sunday, injuring at least two people and halting gas supplies, local media said.

The second west-east natural gas pipeline, which transports gas from central Asia to south China, exploded in an industrial zone in China’s southeastern province of Jiangxi, state news agency Xinhua said.

The pipeline has a capacity to transport 30 billion cubic meters of gas a year.

Energy released from the explosion knocked over people hundreds of meters away, Xinhua said, without detailing the length of the exploded pipeline. The government is investigating the cause of the explosion, the agency said.

2004 story: Explosion rocks gas storage facility in Liberty County

MOSS BLUFF – A voluntary evacuation order was lifted hours after natural gas from an underground storage cavern exploded near the Liberty-Chambers county line Thursday morning, sending flames 150 to 200 feet into the air and waking nearby residents. . . . “

About Lake Peigneur

” . . . One of the better-known accidents involving a storage facility happened in 1992 near Brenham, where a natural gas liquids storage cavern was overfilled, allowing the formation of a gas vapor cloud that was ignited by a spark.
Three people died as a result of the explosion.”

“The root cause of the explosion was due to internal corrosion in a pipe at the facility. . . said company welder that worked on rebuilding the facility”.informed source

A lot of industry information here:

What Lies Beneath
In August the small Texas community of Moss Bluff made national news when nearly 6 billion cubic feet of natural gas burned for six days as it escaped from an underground salt dome storage facility.

  1. Note the US company is formed as an LLC. LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY! So first off, they probably do not have enough assets to cover something like a sinkhole, and bet they don’t have insurance coverage for that amount either. Remember the fertilizer company in Texas? 1M only for insurance, no way to pay for medical costs, let alone costs of property damages. LLC is a good way to keep your assets safe, if you have any.

    • JEC,

You are right on the money when you point out what LLC stands for.

However, the mere fact that an LLC’s purpose is to limit one’s liability shows that it’s there to allow, and even encourage, people or corporations to be irresponsible !

That’s what we get when we ignore the strict liability mandates of The Great I Am in matters such as these (e.g., Numbers 5: 5-7) and allow the god (name a state) to create entities via incorporation and grant such special privileges thereto.

Now we’re all witnessing the painful results of shrugging off His mandates for strict liability for EVERY one’s actions.

After all, why worry about the consequences if there’s little to no liability ? A for profit corporation’s ONLY purpose is just that: profit.

    • nary a peep! I put the picture up of LA12 because the people supposed to be watching monitors are probably off for the holiday.
Hope someone there notices and calls them up!

  2. No, other than its said the drilling is ongoing thru the caprock by an oil or gas exploration company. GADS, talk about belling the cat..

    • yeah but drilling makes constant zig-zags that look like solid color. Looks like this:

These intermittent jumps are usually seismic activity…. cave ins…

  3. As far as I can tell this happen in Louisiana there is only a min. of defend in time with this.
It look like gas or oil or water movement deep underground.

I was looking at the recorder in Arkansas time 04:47 am CDT that 09:47 UTC May 27, 2013

    • I think there is a slow-mo ‘river’ of boulders and sludge moving sideways down under there. Hopefully mud river and not a toxic waste river. Does that sound like what you think?

I just put up a scary picture of LA12 … just now.
