  1. Reassuring words (yeah right). He was the guy that said on TV he wanted quadruple the value of his property prior to the sinkhole for him to sell out. If the thing doesn’t blow up they will be flaring gas long after he has been buried. Living that close the choice is obvious.

I would think at a minimum fair market value plus 10% and moving expenses at a minimum of 10K would be fair. Those properties will never regain their value, they will never be affordibly insurable. Time to go. Just me talking though.

    • CROSSTEX ENERGY IS ALSO TRYING TO LEASE OUR FAMILY LAND IT RUNS ALONG GRAND BAYOU WHERE THE WANT TO INSTALL THE NEW PIPELINE TO REROUTE THE ONE THAT CROSSES THE SINKHOLE. I AM NOT SELLING MY LAND FOR NO PIPELINE. BESIDE THAT THE ARE OFFERING 200.00
IT WILL A MANY YEARS FOR THE CYPRESS TO GROW AGAIN

  2. I’ve been following all the info. on this site for awhile, but have never posted. There is a video on youtube dated yesterday about methane bubbles coming out of the ground in Kenner, La. I am not very good at this linking thingy yet or I would post it. I think it’s worth watching b/c of the seriousness of the situation. This guy is out filming in his yard after a rain storm and bubbles are coming up out of the sidewalk and they have sidewalks rising up. Just thought if this is happening in Kenner it really is time to get out. Thanks for all the hardwork guys, this is my go to place for sinkhole news.

  3. Ok, let me try this flyingcuttlefish. I just read he’s called the sewer department and the gas department, no answers. So, here goes….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGeuydPSJVY

The title is South Louisiana Street Explosions – Bubbling Water from ground and sidewalks.
I’m sorry but I don’t even know if that’s a URL, that’s what you’re dealing with. Hope it helps though.

    • oh, it’ll get out alright! Thanks for the great find! Now, up near N.O. there are all sorts of chemical leaks and industry dumps things down the drain …
…. but if it smells like methane, acts like methane, bubbles like methane and blows up like methane …. maybe it IS methane! 🙂
