Are They Fracking in the Gulf of Mexico?

From discussion now at Radioactive Chat

ITEM: 5.0 quake off South California

ITEM: Calif. finds more instances of offshore fracking

If they are doing it in Southern California waters are they doing it in the Gulf of Mexico? Is there any drilling apparatus not in the Gulf of Mexico??? And there’s that giant lake of methane there too. Wouldn’t fooling around with fracking and the exotic mix of chemicals and sometimes radioactive components be unwise around such a vast amount of methane hydrates???

  1. 5.0 Quake off California..interesting..no sign of the ‘sloshing’ seen with quakes further south or in S America. Of course, I could have missed it.but the heiicorders really did not seem to show much…

  2. “…Wouldn’t fooling around with fracking and the exotic mix of chemicals and sometimes radioactive components be unwise around such a vast amount of methane hydrates???”

Seriously… You expected wisdom from a group of people who poke holes in the ground, just to see what comes out ?! 8)

And on a lighter note ::

This text from the Email that links to this article 😉 …
“Are they doing to the Gulf of Mexico what they are doing in the Atlantic off California??”

Spot the ever so slightly glaring geography typo…

Answer :: California IS NOT bordered by the Atlantic, it’s bordered by the Black Sea and the Mediterranean 😉

      • Sorry, I’ve not been around much… The wife’s been ill since Xmas. We don’t know what it is yet, but she has the same symptoms as her father had 7 years ago.

That didn’t turn out too well, it was Pancreatic Cancer. So she’s scared witless, even though she doesn’t know yet what it is.

So if I’m not around much, if at all, you’ll know why, it’s not that I’ve lost interest, I’ve just got a lot on my plate.
