“It’s quite complex. There’s a scissoring motion going on…”

Rock salt for isolating nuclear waste not as capable as thought

“A new research from The University of Texas at Austin shows that rock salt, used by Germany and the United States as a subsurface storage for nuclear waste, might not be as impermeable as thought or as capable of isolating nuclear waste from groundwater in the event that a capsule or storage vessel failed.”

” . . . “The main thing in this case is that salt can develop permeability even in absence of mining activity – further hard work is immutable to study what amount of flow can occur,” said assistant professor Marc A. Hesse of the Jackson School’s Department of Geological Sciences.”

    • I put 2 and 2 together … they turn off helis at Yellowstone (Mary Greeley caught them at it) and stuff ‘doesn’t show up’ at Bayou Corne ….
      because monitors turned off.

      • The more they try to manipulate the climate, the worse our lives become. The people of this planet are living in troubled times. The Georgia Stones are a good indication of the end game–limit World population to 500 million.

  1. Updated: 5 Oklahoma earthquakes of 2.6 magnitude or greater recorded so far Saturday – Latest Earthquake Information from the U.S. Geological Survey.
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission announced Friday plans to shut off four disposal wells within 3 miles of the earthquake activity near Crescent on Thursday.

  2. We were talking about this gash a couple weeks ago. There trying to blow this thing off as a natural occurance. No big deal, they think. I can’t remember of hearing or seeing anything like this occure from only 1″ of rain. I’ve seen many, many areas around the World get way more than 1″ of rain and this kind of earth movement never happened. I’ve seen excessive rain cause whole mountain sides to collapse. The rain water saturates the soil and the soil is whisked away. It is my opinion that if the ground was saturated by water, large chunks of ground would not have stayed intact. How stupid do these people think we are? There might be some comparison between the Wyoming gash and this California incident.
Super volcano? The Big One in Wyoming? A huge gash in Earth has folks talking.

    • my opinion … not very scientific … is: these new oil extraction technologies and fracking techniques have removed important plate-protecting lubricants from down deep. And now there are big rocks rubbing against each other when they used to slide across each other harmlessly.

      • All of the oil they are extracting has a high viscusity and holds the surrounding earth in place. When the oil, the support is removed, the earth caves in.

    • except that spurt effect …. these loons know it is highly dangerous.
These are just more fancy weapons systems fronting as ‘science’.
