“Since 1986, LEAN has been pushing the slow boulder of progress towards a safer, more just future. While change is slow and the winding path of progress can feel very frustrating, we are excited about the progress we have made in 2021. In addition to continuing to empower impacted communities across the state, we have reached a significant milestone in the development of our Community Archive & Empowerment Center. As the pandemic eases, we are excited to begin hosting individuals, organizations and groups to help empower positive change through the unique lessons of Louisiana’s environmental justice history. “
