Lake Peigneur Bubbling Aug 21 2014

Bubbling continues at Lake Peigneur. The DNR & AGL Resources were notified of some unfortunate changes in the bubbling phenomena. We have had a few bubbling events over the summer however, yesterday’s event indicated significant changes. About Lake Peigneur
Most of the previous bubbling events ran in linear east/west movement.

Yesterday the bubbling ran north/south and irregular lines. After discussion with the AGL contact the company will also monitor activities in our process to determine the cause of the bubbling.

We Want to See CORRECT Diagrams of Lake FUBAR

When will the charts in the CBI public presentations get corrected?

The illustrations of shape, depth and contents of Lake FUBAR don’t match what is playing out before our eyes. You have essentially been exposed as giving out misleading information to the public about the collapsed salt dome at Napoleonville. Was this by error?

Is it a deliberate disinfo campaign because all he11 has broken loose down below and you gotta show something ‘different’ to calm down angry residents?

Did you take over a year (instead of 2 weeks) to do a 3-D survey as a stall for litigation reasons?
Is pressure below being affected by the oil-eating, untested, genetically-modified bacteria  put in the Gulf and underground to bring more profits to oil and gas companies? Is there a way to “recall” the oil-eating, untested, gentically-modified bacteria?

Does Texas Brine pay management level oil industry careerists to troll Face Book, blogs and social media to keep “their” version of events at Bayou Corne repeated?

Does Texas Brine, Occidental Petroleum or other big oil and gas entity pressure the local business-friendly media not to question Texas Brine’s version of events at Bayou Corne?

Did the  USGS and other agencies obscure or omit important information about faults in the Gulf coast states and offshore near oil field areas to ease the drilling permit process? Did they do the same for information about dead volcanoes?

Which caverns in Assumption Parish are fully intact and which ones are compromised or failing? Are there new M.I.T. results on all of them? Did DNR tell anyone to do them?

Texas Brine brags they have “world experts” helping solve the problem at Bayou Corne. Why do these “world experts” all have career ties to Texas Brine?  And isn’t it true these are not the ‘top’ experts in the field? And isn’t it true there has been no international outreach in the science community for opinions about a solutution for the disaster? And why are only brine and oil men involved? Wouldn’t it help to bring in expertise from other fields?

If Texas Brine has confidence in their science team and the Blue Ribbons why isn’t the live cam public?

Has there been a test using dye or smoke etc. to find the source of any leaks from caverns?

If the methane is being flared off and/or vented from Bayou Corne what happened at Crawfish Stew location yesterday? Did the pressure increase or are there more methane spots appearing?

Why hasn’t anyone tested the bubbling at Lake Peigneur  to see if it has the same trouble as Bayou Corne? Ditto New Orleans area.

If that bubbling is related doesn’t this disaster need better management than Texas Brine can provide?

Why do NASA, Google Earth and Digital Globe refuse requests to show satellite imagry of the disaster? Were they told not to show it?

Letter from SAVE LAKE PEIGNEUR  dated March 8, 2013

to Karl Morgan, Office of Coastal Management, Baton Rouge, LA
Dear Mr. Morgan:

We received your notification of approval for the permit application for dredging in preparation for creating additional hydrocarbon storage caverns at Lake Peigneur for AGL Resources/ Jefferson Island Storage & Hub LLC. on Friday at 4:42 PM. We were not surprised by your approval since there are numerous people who have laughed at our resoluteness and belief in Louisiana’s Constitution. We have been repeatedly told, “It’s a done deal.”
There are some points that we wish to address.
Page 2 – paragraph 4: Regarding the bubbling, “the investigations completed by governmental agencies will continue to be evaluated. Any consideration from existing operations or geologic anomalies would be a consideration of the Office of Conservation when reviewing pending permit applications.”  What investigations? There have been no conclusive studies. The equipment was stolen during investigations. Our geologist clearly states in his report,  “Removal of sediment seal by the dredging operation could result in the release of a greater volume of gas bubbles from existing fractures, and the release of bubbles from new areas of Lake Peigneur.” Has Secretary Chustz reviewed this permit approval?
Dr. Losonsky’s statement clearly addresses the potential hazards to environment and human life if the dredging operation adversely exacerbates the unexplained bubbling activity. The dredging may not be the straw that breaks the camels back but at some point there will be another disaster in Lake Peigneur simply because of the unexplained bubbling.
Page 4- the discussion regarding parish resolutions, we submitted the Vermilion Parish Resolution on January 24.  Ms. Conlin and myself visited your office and provided electronically this document, again included with this letter. However, the resolutions are moot since they concern the drinking water and environmental impacts from storage cavern development.
Our attorneys requested any additional information that was provided to you from AGL Resources/JISH following the comment period. We would like that information provided to us immediately. In addition Ms. Gloria Conlin requested a copy of the video of the Public Hearing, and to date is still waiting from the appropriate individual to provide her with this video.
We would like to pick up all the documentation we submitted since we will once again need all the documents for Injection & Mining. Please let me know when we can arrange to do this.
