Iberville DOW plant has a fire with many explosions

The fire is being fought with their private fire company so there’s no information. They say no one was hurt.

“Dow’s Gylcol 2 Unit, the area where the incident occurred, specializes in the production and handling of ethylene oxide, a highly flammable and explosive chemical, as confirmed by parish officials. Ethylene oxide is primarily used as a sterilizing agent but also finds applications in anti-freeze and various other industries. The US Environmental Protection Agency has classified ethylene oxide as a human carcinogen.…”
