Before It’s News – Watch Louisiana Apocalyptic Flooding  < PHOTOS

“El Niño has dramatically pounded Louisiana residents with one inch of rain approximately every hour over the past fourteen hours, creating an apocalyptic scene.”

“…The severe storm risk will remain Thursday, with the state capitol Baton Rouge and New Orleans being impacted. Both cities are on the swollen Mississippi River and its tributaries, dependent on the Mississippi Levee to prevent what could be catastrophic flooding. New Orleans is below sea level

Officials are warning that floodwaters could rise above a levy, placing thousands of homes and businesses in jeopardy. A forced evacuation has been ordered. Many residents are having to rely on first responders in boats, including  the National Guard and sheriff deputies….”

Let’s hope the damp levees around the nuke plants hold!

FRIDAY UPDATE – EVERYTHING IS WORSE AND MORE WATER ON THE WAY

WBRZ has 24 HR. LIVE Coverage

Weather report (bad through the weekend too)

” Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue on Friday. Again, 1-3” of precipitation will be possible. In addition to flash flooding, a coastal flood advisory is in place as the combination of heavy rain and southerly winds will keep runoff from readily draining into Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas. Backwater flooding in the typical trouble spots could be an issue. “

  1. The print is so light that it is impossible to see. This is such a shame because the content of the articles could be so beneficial to so many.

    • just mouse over it to make it show …
or hit the WAFB.com link to get the news.
Wordpress claims this theme is for mobile phones and it definitely isn’t….
Also go to bottom of the right sidebar for TEXT only view of everything on the sidebar.

  2. I think that Waterford is most risk. sort of a no brainer but there is historic evidence and probably worsened due to Bonnet Carre . There is also dam hazard failure info that I have for River Bend. At least workers would have little boats around there.

With the Germans trying to dump 200 tonnes of nuclear waste on America, I havent had time to finish posts on flooding hazard. They allege the US sold them almost one tonne of uranium and want America to get 200 tonnes of waste back. 1 g from the US per 200 g for the entire ball at most. Even this is doubtful.

To oppose dumping the comment deadline is March 11 at 11.59 pm: http://www.regulations.gov/#!documentDetail;D=DOE_FRDOC_0001-3020

From the Draft Environmental Assessment: “2.2 NO ACTION ALTERNATIVE
Under the No Action Alternative, the spent nuclear fuel containing U.S.-origin uranium from the AVR and THTR would not be transported to the United States for management and disposition. The spent nuclear fuel would remain in storage in Germany and the impacts described in Chapter 4 of this Draft EA would not occur.”

Is the father trying to tell us something a documentary film The River.

1938 The River a documentary film
One more good one 1936 classic The Plow That Broke the Plains.

      • People need to listen when they say “STay at home!” … I hate seeing people leave their driveway when it’s a fog out or other no-driving situation. And on the news you see people on top of a car waiting for rescue after stupidly driving into deep water and they risk all the people who have to come and help them! If water is going to go and dirty your hub caps you shouldn’t be driving in that puddle. PLUS – even if it isn’t rushing water … when you drive in axle deep water your brake shoes get 50% life span.
And another thing … out west in the Rocky mountains, where mountaineers and skiers get into trouble and need professional climbers rescue or chopper … at the end of it all they get a BILL.

      • Power of Nature
When you got Updrafts and Downdrafts storms or you could say downbursts, Macrobursts, there just as damaging as Tornado.
