Gulf Of Mexico 52x More Toxic From Corexit Clean Up Than The Original Oil Spill Itself

Study shows mixing oil with dispersant increased toxicity to Gulf’s ecosystems.

If the 4.9 million barrels of oil that spilled into the Gulf of Mexico during the 2010 Deep Water Horizon spill was a ecological disaster, the two million gallons of dispersant used to clean it up apparently made it even worse – 52-times more toxic. That’s according to new research from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes (UAA), Mexico. . . .

The parish says there won’t be a resident meeting until Dec. 18th. Guess they are busy ordering umpire vests and motorcross pads!

Some new PHOTOS up at the official Flickr site. These trees don’t look too healthy!

AGAIN! WE ASK: Why Aren’t There More People Working on the Sinkhole Problem?

SUNDAY

Ene-news has a   story about fracking: NBC: Animals quietly falling sick and dying near oil & gas drilling — Cows tails dropping off (PHOTO)  Imagine what is in the aquifer near the sinkhole with those huge pipelines, broken pipes and broken cavern! Cows would have a lot more parts dropping off than tails!

The ExaminerCould Corexit have made BP crude travel to sinkhole disaster site?

A disturbing scientific report released this week implies the possibility that Corexit 9500A used to cover up BP oil after the Gulf of Mexico catastrophe began in April 2010 could make crude oil travel underground for long distances, possibly as far as the historic Bayou Corne sinkhole where crude from an unknown source is being released.

By using the dispersant Corexit 9500A after the Gulf oil catastrophe began in April 2010, BP and the United States military made the crude oil from the Macondo Prospect off the Louisiana coast able to travel further, according to a new study released this week, raising further questions about whether the crude continuing to flow into Louisiana’s sinkhole disaster area just over 100 miles away could be BP’s. . . .

Texas Brine put out a new update (12-1)

    • The author, Walton, that posted video “homeland security monitors sinkhole”. deleted and blocked me after I told him I was a local and corrected 2 things he said in his video.

1)- he could NOT see bubbling from the road because there IS no bubbling seen from the road.

2)- NOTHING out here is “fenced off”. The sinkhole is on TB property and that IS private property, yes.

So he deleted those commenst and blocks me…..real credibility. I guess everyone needs their 15 minutes of fame. Totally hilarious thing is he could have walked a few more blocks down the road and got video of the sinkhole itself because it is visible from the road. LMAO!!!

      • Thank you, Jo. I knew from flyovers there was no fence. Also, the Bayou Corne sign is located at the bridge built over a swamp pass. I will not say there is no bubbling there, but I for darn sure know that another 500 yards up the road is an open space where he could have filmed with a clear view of the western edge.

      • his video was concentrating on the Homeland Security van … but with that large budget HS had lots of vehicles everywhere these days. I guess it was the first time he’d seen one.

    • oops … I thought the one mentioning FaceBook was you!
Well, you are always welcome to have your say HERE 🙂

    · $10,000 for failure to install in-home monitors to detect possible natural gas accumulations and upgraded home ventilation for all slab-foundation immediately upon gaining permission from property owners

    · $10,000 for failure to begin installation of two new observation/vent wells by Nov. 27
